MCWAY FALLS drops 80 feet from a Big Sur cliff directly onto a small crescent of beach in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park — one of two tidefall in California, and the only one with a year-round flow. The beach itself is the result of a 1983 landslide that filled the cove; before that, the falls dropped into open ocean. The access to the cove is closed. The view from the overlook is the entire point.
