TROY is the great walled citadel of Priam, rising gold-stoned above the Aegean plain where the Scamander meets the sea — a city so beautiful, so storied, so fiercely defended that the world sent ten years and ten thousand ships just to settle the question. Seat of kings and princes, it traded in silk and amber and the goodwill of gods who could never quite agree on its fate.
